Oberlin Orchestra perform’s Rodríguez’ A Metaphor for Power along side Brahms’ Tragic Overture, Op.81, and R. Nathaniel Dett’s oratorio The Ordering of Moses with soprano Mathilda Edge, guest mezzo-soprano Krysty Swann, alumnus tenor Limmie Pulliam '98, and faculty baritone Timothy LeFebvre as soloists under maestro Raphael Jiménez.

As a winner of the The Juilliard School’s annual orchestra composition competition, The Juilliard Orchestra will be offering the world premiere of Iván’s Second Symphony: “Naa Okùnkùn ti Òkúnta Dídán.”

White Snakes Projects commissioned Rodríguez’s new art song The Beauty in Me for their upcoming presentation of Sing Out Strong: Incarcerated Voices. Rodríguez’s art song, with text by inmate W.E. Peebels, who has been sentenced to the death penalty, will be sung by award-winning baritone Brandon Bell.

Invited by ProArte Musical, Rodríguez will offer an online masterclass on his approach to composition and his use of voices as literal and metaphoric representations of his Identity, his Motivic Material, and how they all mix together in Counterpoint.
