Rodríguez Receives the Leonard Bernstein Award and Morton Gould Young Composers Award at the 2019 ASCAP Foundation Honors
After a very busy year working with Maestro Cristian Măcelaru and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra for the premiere of his work A Metaphor for Power, a residency at the Massachussets International Festival of the Arts which will finish this next summer of 2020 with the world premiere of his piece Transmutación Inerte, being accepted, as the first Puerto Rican at the renowned C.V. Starr Doctoral Program of The Juilliard School, collaborating with the award winning violinist Alice Ivy-Pemberton for her climate change activism musical project Drowning Monuments, working with the Vision Ensemble to provide music for refugee camps in Germany, Rodríguez finish the year being recognized at the 2019 ASCAP Foundation Honors.
Rodríguez will be presented with the Leonard Bernstein Award by the Bernstein family, and the Morton Gould Young Composers Award honorable mention.
