Rodríguez’ A Metaphor for Power Receives Carnegie Hall Debut.
The Oberlin Symphony Orchestra and the Conservatory Choral Ensembles will offer a momentous program charged with social significance and musical force. Under the baton of Maestro Raphael Jiménez, the Oberlin Orchestra, will open the evening with Johannes Brahms’ Tragic Overture, followed by Rodríguez’ Carnegie Hall debut with his orchestral essay A Metaphor for Power. The program ends with the College Choir, and the Musical Union, with soloists Chabrelle Williams, Soprano; Ronnita Miller, Mezzo-Soprano; Limmie Pulliam, Tenor; and Eric Greene, Baritone on Nathaniel Dett’s oratorio The Ordering of Moses.
The concert will take place at the legendary Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage in Carnegie Hall, Friday January 20, 2023 at 8:00pm.
